Loneliness, my companion

A cloak of loneliness rests on me. It flows gently over my shoulders, and weaves around my arms and chest. It’s not too tight; it’s not suffocating me, no. It’s simply there. Draped over my skin. I can feel its caress as I move. I can feel its soft touch as I sit, in stillness. For in stillness I sit, with loneliness. My only companion.
